The advancement in modern medical facilities for Emergency & Acute interventions has been exceptional. For that, we need to be grateful to our medical professionals.

But when it comes to “treating the symptoms of diseases for life” it becomes debatable as it places the health and quality of life of billions of patients around the world in some serious questions.

Environmental pollutions, poor urban planning & regulation, increased exposure to chemicals and electromagnetic waves, the adulteration of processed and animal-based foods are among some of the real root causes of many of our diseases.

It is good that the International Agency for Research on Cancer, under the World Health Organization (WHO), has finally placed processed food under its Group 1 category for their carcinogenicity, and red meat under Group 2A. This should serve as a wake-up call for many to take their lives more seriously.

WHO, like our medical doctors, researchers and professionals do have the power or expertise to be mitigating some of these risks.

It is in our own interest to learn and be smart about how we can live and work within such a toxic and harmful environment, and know what we can do collectively to address some of these pressing health concerns in a more holistic manner.
